California Assembly Bill authors Patty Berg and Lloyd Levine could not gather enough votes to pass AB 654 so it didn't even come to a floor vote. The Bill titled: California Compassionate Choices Act, would have legalized doctor assisted suicide in California. Berg and Levine now seek legislative sleight of hand to resuscitate and transform AB 654 into a Senate bill, temporarily bypassing the Assembly vote as they attempt to lure more Assembly Member support.
Thanks to all those who worked so diligently to stop this latest attempt to sell death as medical treatment in California. Thanks to those who took the time to sign the postcards regarding the opposition AB 654. There were 31,000 postcard signatures sent from Los Angeles County alone.
