A Lesson in Frugality

We went to King's Hawaiian Restaurant in Torrance tonight. This is one of our favorite places to eat. It reminds us of some of the food from Hawaii that we miss so much. They have a very good bakery, too.

Alex was contemplating what he would have from the keiki (child's) menu. He could have chosen spaghetti, mini hamburgers, chicken nuggets, teriyaki chicken or beef bowl, among other items. In a very loud voice, a volume so high that everyone in the restaurant could hear, he proclaimed, "I think that I'll have the grilled cheese, it's the cheapest!" Did he learn this from me or Lisa?

No, Alex, the cheapest thing would have been to have water and the free King's Hawaiian dinner rolls. That's what you can have next time.
